Bot Behavior

The game includes AI-controlled bots (“CPU Players”) to keep the market active and provide competition. Understanding their logic can help you outsmart them.

Bots perform actions based on a set of rules:

Bots will sell their goods if the current price is significantly higher than the base price (typically > 1.2x). They don’t hoard goods indefinitely.

Bots look for the 2 cheapest goods at their current location and buy as much as they can afford (up to a limit). This means they often snap up the best deals in low-price areas like Albouystown.

Bots travel approximately every 3 days. They move to random locations to spread out the market activity.

Bots can play dirty.

  • Chance: There is a 30% chance a bot will “snitch” on you if you are in the same location.
  • Effect: Snitching increases your Risk Modifier by +15%.
  • Result: Your next travel is much more likely to result in a Police Raid or other negative event.
  • Cost: Snitching costs the bot 4 Energy.
  • Predict Movement: Bots follow simple patterns. If a bot just bought up all the cheap goods in Albouystown, they will likely move to a high-price area (like Bel Air) soon to sell.
  • Avoid Crowds: Staying in the same location as multiple bots increases your chance of being snitched on.
  • Mug Them: Bots can be mugged just like human players. If you see a bot with a high net worth, they are likely carrying a lot of cash or valuable goods.
